How TRS game days work

Tokyo Roleplaying Society runs regular tabletop-RPG game days: one-shot games you can join with or without an account.

What's a game day?

A game day is an in-person event with one or more time periods (afternoon, evening…). Each period has tables ("slots") where facilitators run one-shot games — no experience or preparation needed unless the game says otherwise.

Joining a game

Browse the games, pick one, and hit Join. Signing in takes under a minute (email magic link, Discord, or Tavern) and means you get reminders, waitlist updates, and cancellation notices. Bringing a friend? Facilitators can allow guests, and organizers can add walk-ins at the venue.

Full games & waitlists

If a game is full you can join the waitlist. When a seat opens you're confirmed automatically, in order — you'll get an email and an in-app notification.

Want to run a game?

Anyone can facilitate! Open the Facilitator Portal, pick an open slot, and submit your game. An organizer reviews it; once approved, your table shows as reserved while you finish the listing, and you announce it when it's ready to open for signups. English, Japanese, and bilingual tables are all welcome.

Tickets & special events

Most game days are free and open. Some special events (like conventions) require a ticket — those pages show a notice and a link to get one.

At the table

Be kind, help newcomers, and support the venue (order a drink!). If you can't make it, cancel early so waitlisted participants get your seat. Facilitators may use safety tools — check each game's content notes.

Common questions

I approved a game — why isn't it public yet?

Approving and announcing are separate steps. Once a game is approved, its table shows as Reserved on the event page with the facilitator's name, so everyone can see the slot is taken. When the facilitator (or an organizer) presses Announce on the game's page, the full listing goes public, signups open, and it's cross-posted to the Tavern and Discord. The extra step lets facilitators polish the listing before it goes live.

How do I delete a game that was already approved or released?

Use the Delete game button — it's on the game's page and on the Facilitator Portal's Your games list. It works at any stage, frees up the slot for another facilitator, and automatically notifies any participants who had joined. The button is visible to the game's facilitator and to organizers.

I can't make it — how do I give up my seat?

Open the game's page and press Leave. Your seat goes to the first person on the waitlist automatically. Please cancel as early as you can — some events lock cancellations in the final hours before the game starts, and after that you'll need to message the facilitator or an organizer.

Why should I verify my email?

A verified email lets us match you to ticketed and members-only events, and makes sure reminders, waitlist promotions, and cancellation notices actually reach you. If you signed in with a magic link you're already verified; Discord and LINE sign-ins can add and verify an email from the profile page.

How do I change my name, photo, or intro?

Click your avatar in the top-right and choose Profile. You can set your display name, photo, a short self-intro, social handles, and play-style tags — those appear on your public member page.

What happens if a game or event is cancelled?

Everyone who joined gets an in-app notification (and an email where possible) right away. If the wider game day is still on, you can pick another open table on the same page.
