Silent Falls Expansion

Alice is Missing is a silent role playing game about the disappearance of Alice Briarwood, a high school junior in the small town of Silent Falls. During the game, players only communicate using their phones, sending text messages to each other as they unearth clues about what happened to Alice. The game requires a high degree of roleplaying (all communication will be in character) and a lot of improvisation as all players (there’s no GM) work together to discover the truth of Alice’s disappearance.

The game will be run using the Discord app so please make sure that you’ve downloaded it beforehand and that your phone is charged up. Apart from that, all you’ll need is a pencil and an eraser (no dice needed).

As you can imagine, roleplaying being caught up in the disappearance of a teenage girl can lead to dealing with some adult themes such as possible alcohol/drug abuse, violence etc. but we will be using a system of Lines and Veils at the start of the game to filter out any topics that players may not want to appear in the game.

I’d also add that the game that the game needs to be taken somewhat seriously for it to ‘work’ as players will be expected to stay in character during their text exchanges.

Finally (thanks for reading this far if you’ve made it here) the game itself is on a timer of 90 minutes. Explaining and setting up the game will take about 30 minutes so we’ll probably finishing early compared to other games that might be running. A couple of us were thinking of hanging around for drinks afterwards (instead of rushing for the train as usual) so if that sounds like something that you’d be interested in please sign up!
