Otsuka RPG Day September 26 2026

This will be my first attempt at a ‘rolling campaign’ - an epic adventure uncovering the secrets of the Dragon Emperor over several months where players can drop in and out of the game. Each month will be a different adventure site. You can just sign up for one month, sign up for September and then take a month or two off or come along for the whole ride. More details to follow. Players will need a pencil, eraser and the usually selection of RPG dice (I’ll bring along a few spare sets too). The game contains the usual collection of races (humans, elves, halflings, dwarves, wolfing and er…mallards (duck people)). Let me know if there’s a particular race/class combination that you’d like to play and I’ll try and accommodate you. Bear in mind that the group will need to be fairly balanced though.

The Gods of Earthland have chosen you to act as their Champions against of the Champions of one of the greatest hells of the Outback Realms; Strahlya. You have been summoned to the Great Arena by the Arbiter of Time to face off against deadly foes such as: Joey Cage, Spoonya Knife, Kung POW, Cold One and the great undead assassin Fiesty-Little-Critter-Aintcha. The Fate of the Realms hang in the balance. Victory means eternal glory, defeat ends in Fatality. Watch out for Drop Bears. This will be a D&D 5e (2014) game for 6th level characters. Character options are available from any official source. Please create a character beforehand. We will not be using any 5.5e materials.

You're stuck in Saturday detention! Take on the role of the Brain, the Jock, the Freak, the Princess, or the Criminal. Can you survive the scrutiny of Principle Vernon? Will you give in and write your essay, or will you stick it to the man and figure out a better way to spend your weekend? Knowledge of the classic teen movie "The Breakfast Club" is definitely a plus, but not a requirement for joining this game. Characters will be assigned at random on the day. The game will follow the system set by The Film Reroll podcast, where player actions and rolls of the dice will determine how far we veer away from the original movie script. Expect a very different story. Game system will be a modified and simplified version of the GURPs rules. Players will only need 3d6 to play. Rolls are always targeting a number lower than the target difficulty based on simple player stats. Beginners welcome.

A bleak dark fantasy game about exploration and survival. Strange permeates the landscape, old things linger in places best left unseen, and every step forward risks you being quietly unmade. Run using Cairn, where characters are fragile, rules are light, and survival depends more on player choices than character power. Characters will be made at the table. Bring some dice if you got em.
